Love is Christmas

Here's a song I found today that I just love, especially at Christmas time. I hope it makes your day brighter like it did to mine :)

Thankful

Ok, so I know I'm a little late on the thankful post thing. But it's something that I've been thinking about lately, and I think I figured it out.

Of all the things that I am grateful for (the list is long), the thing that I am the very most grateful for is my wonderful, amazing husband. I honestly cannot imagine my life without him. He is so loving, and I to this day don't understand how he so willingly puts up with me. He loves me all the time, even when I'm hungry and cranky (really not a good time of the day for me), when I'm frustrated with something and take it out on him, and even when I haven't showered in 2 days and am a complete hot mess. He loves me when I'm lazy and don't want to do the dishes or make dinner, and he loves me when I haven't cleaned our room in 4 days because I've been so busy and just want to relax when I get home.

No matter what happens in our lives, Kagan is always there to remind me that things will work out, that he loves me and believes in me even though I feel like a complete failure sometimes. He is the voice of reason when my world falls apart around me, the one who keeps me standing even when all I want to do is lie down and die.

I am so blessed to have a worthy priesthood holder in my home at all times, ready and willing to use the power that the Lord has given him to bless our family. I can tell you for certain that the Lord loves me very much, because He was kind enough to send me a husband who is better than I could have ever dreamed. I don't know how I can ever thank Him enough, but I'll start by trying to be even a portion as wonderful to Kagan as he is to me.

Recent Events

Alright well maybe I haven't posted in awhile but I figured this would be a good time to update.

So not a lot has been going on our lives. School and work has been incredibly busy. I'm only taking 7 credits, but I'm also working 3 jobs. One of my 7 credits is a dance class, 2 of them are research (which also happens to be one of my jobs) and 4 of them are my comparative anatomy and physiology of animals class. It may be a 4 credit class, but the required work involved makes it feel like an 8 credit class. My jobs are such: my research, as previously mentioned, I TA for a Bio 100 class (which I LOVE), and I am a receptionist at a company called Chrysalis. So, in short, I'm insanely busy.

Kagan is taking classes full-time and working 2 jobs as well. He makes websites and works for a company that takes pictures of and films sporting events. Football season is coming to an end, so the work is finally slowing down, and I get my husband back on Saturdays. Yay!

At the end of November we got in a car accident. We were on our way to Kagan's brother's house and were stopped in the road waiting to turn, and were rear-ended by the guy behind us. We drive an Xterra and the guy who hit us drives a Honda Accord, so his car pretty much went under ours. Here's the damage:

Basically our tire was punctured and the bumper was mutilated. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt and our cars were fixable. We've been going to a chiropractor, which has been nice (especially the massages we got), and we got our car back about a week ago. They had told us at first that the axle was broken, but it turns out that it's not, which is very comforting.

Well, that's the biggest news in our lives.  I'm graduating in December, so maybe we'll give you an update then when we know what we're doing after that (ha...right!) Happy November!

More Pictures

Here's the post I promised awhile ago. Woo hoo!

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

This one's tricky. Definitely my mom. And Jeffrey. And Hailee. Top 3 is the same as 1, right?

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show
I. Love. The. Office.

Day 04 - A picture of your night
This is from the play Tartuffe, which I have to write a paper about today.

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory
This is a hard one, but I think I can safely settle with 2 occasions: the entire experience of Jerusalem, and my wedding.

Jobs

Well it's time that I accept this fact and tell you all.

I applied for an internship at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake for this summer and I didn't get it. The problem is, I had pretty much based all my summer plans on getting it, and didn't really have a back up plan (mostly because I wanted the internship so bad).

So here I am, jobless, moving into the summer. Ok, technically I'm not jobless, I will still be working in the lab that I've been working in this last semester, I just don't think I can mentally survive working full-time there.

I applied for a position today at a humane society in Lindon.

Please pray for me that I get it.

Then I get to work with all the cute little abandoned animals and give them all the animal aimed love I've been deprived of giving out for so long, what with my not having any pets and all. I literally get to live one of those animal abuse commercials (not abusing the animals, but taking care of them), with Sarah MacLaughlan playing in the background (Arms of the Angel), basically aimed to pull at your heartstrings. That could be ME!

So that's it. Let's all hope for the best.
